WHAT IS HCA

What are the other job descriptions for health assistants?
As part of their job description, healthcare assistants assist patients with everyday tasks like driving, getting around, changing their fluid intake, and taking their prescriptions.
In order to maintain acceptable patient care, it also requires keeping positive working relationships with physicians, nurses, and other staff members by reporting any problems with patients to them.
How long does the course take?
The health care assistant course lasts four months, including two months of theory in class and two months (320 hours) of practical training to obtain further experience.
What grade is required to qualify for the course?
The course does not require matric; if you do not have it, no problem. From grade 9, you are qualified for the course.

Under the supervision of a doctor, home‑based carers provide medical treatment to patients in their residences. During routine visits, they assess wounds, monitor the patient’s condition, and replace dressings as required. After each visit, home care nurses communicate with the doctor and prepare detailed reports to ensure continuity of care
